The Shining spinoff Overlook in the works

The iconic horror hotel Overlook, from Stephen King’s novel “The Shining,” will again be the scene of frightening experiences, according to Cinema magazine.

This comes right after the movie success of Doctor Sleep, starring  Ewan McGregor, witch also was inspired by the author Stephen King. Overlook is going to be a 10 episode TV series on HBO Max.

The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick. The film is based on Stephen King’s 1977 novel of the same name and stars Jack Nicholson.

The central character in The Shining is Jack Torrance (Nicholson) who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the isolated historic Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies.

The Overlook TV series will be produced by J. J. Abrams, according to Cine.no. Jeffrey Jacob Abrams has previously produced movies like Armageddon, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible III, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker.
